An awesome weekend.

The great weekend started with a volleyball game that was 2,5 car drive away. Nobody was actually really excited to go but it turned out to be fun and it was a nice start in the weekend. We also won the game we did the long drive for and I actually played!!!! And, what´s most important, I didn´t suck:  :D At saturday I went to the Lion King 3D with Elli, the exchang student form Italy, who goes in my class, and her hostparents. We went shopping after and ate Pizza at California Pizza kitchen and ate itallien Gelato. It was a really really really fun day. I sooo enjoyed spending time with her. Today it was very relaxed, church, soccer game, and watching a movie on the coach. Homework of cuz:/ I should properbly study as well and defentiley do Latin.... But I´m kinda getting lazy, which makes it a lot easier to adjust here.  Being lazy is gooooood! As long as I get outta my class with a C, I´m good. So let´s hang out and have fun. PS: I saw a book in the huge bookstore at Saturday: The title said " Math doesn´t suck" And I said: I sooo don´t agreee! It does!

how quickly you can leave

Yesterday I went to school and at volleyball practice Thuy Nga, an exchange student from Holland, came in crying, picking up her stuff and saying good bye to us. She had to leave and is properbly sitting in the plane now. She was a nice girl but she obviously did something wrong. Nobody tells us teenagers, since this private school I go to, literally keeps such things " private". My hostmum thinks it has something to do with a good friend of mine, who goes in my class (she´s american). Anything they participated in. I don´t know, all I know I can meet her without an adult anymore. It´s so confusing and it feels like we all are standing in fog, blind and unknowledged. Another issue is that I might not be able to go to Homecoming since it is organized by some girls of my class and not by the school, which means that there migth me no adult. And if there are no adults, there is no Lizzy. That´s Cheryl´s policy. No shopping without adults, no hanging out without adults (some exceptions) It´s frustrating but I kinda have to deal with it. Well, I don´t have any choice. It is so different from Germany. I would never meet a  friend in the presence of an adult, at least it´s a rare situation. Especially not for a party. I love my hostfamily but some of the rules can bother me sometimes. But that´s how it is. Altough it doesn´t help my homesickness at all. I miss you, mum and I miss everyone else. I miss Hamburg. I miss Germany, although I love the people here. It´s just a weird mixture of feelings.
Another thing, that I´m concerned about is, is the fact that Cassandra (the girl from Norway) and Amber get along sooo well. And I don´t. I hope Amber likes me, but since we don´t really talk, it´s kinda hard to say. Amber is someone, who doesn´t show her real feelings in the normal kind of way. I can´t get her. I feel like the third girl in a friendshio nobody needs. When the have fun and I try to be in it, it just feels wrong...

My Host-family

My first good Volleyball experience and update

Today we had a volleyball game at Heartland School. It went a lot better than yesterday since I mest up two serves in this game. Today they just substituded me when it was my turn to serve and I could do my job as a blocker and hitter. And it went pretty well: I didn´t mess up everything and made some points´. I´m proud of myself.
In general I´m acutally quite good here. The wether is getting cooler and I enjoy the sunsets. Cassandra and I still get along pretty well although we share a room. ´Homesickness is sometimes still in my mind. Whenever I don´t feel good and whenever I have some minutes to think about everything it hits me like a lightning. Especially because I know that my mum misses me a lot as well, it´s hard for me to blend out all those feelings. However, this is the only way to feel good as an Exchange Student. Yóu gotta get involved with people and events here or you are lost! That´s what I try! I like the poeple at school and I also met some familys that my family is close to. They are really nice and I already made lots of friends. I get along with Amber as well. Our relationship seems to improve. :) Although we are completely different : I like really like my hostsister...and whenever she tells you the truth and is so direct I gotta smile :D
Yesterday another five exchange students had their first day at heartland high school. Three Asian guys and a boy and a girl from Heartland. We´ll see how they are. ;) Well, they seem to be pretty good in school. MY grades are the average. Haven´t got a D yet, which is good. But I basically stoped studying to have a good time and enjoy this year so In don´t care. As long as I make a C.... :) I wanna write messages to a few people now. I miss you guys ... but don´t worry about me, I´m good and happy.

Labor Day and Norway.

Yesterday the whole family came over and we ate hot dogs and cheeseburger, played games and video games...and so on. It was labor day, that´s why we all had lunch together. It turned out that my hostsister wasn´t even mad about me a week ago. So everything´s fine with her now. The exchange student we arrival came thursday from Norway and is now looking for a permanent host family. Hopefully she will find it soon :) I share a room with her and get along with her well. School is still pretty exhausting, since we often have volleyball games (i don´t play of course but I´m in the JV-Team so I gotta do stats if I don´t play) We come home very late and it´s very very exhausting because of that. The mornings before school are the worst, when I eat my breakfast I feel the homesickness in every part of my body. Even though I´m actually happy here. I´m properbly always looking for better situation. And now I imagine that it would be better in Germany with my mum and all my friends and my Grandparents. Homesickness is an ugly thing, guys. It is the ugly truth of being in America. At least it is sometimes.
