Countdown!

The Countdown has started: Only 3 days til wednesday, the day I will fly to Kansas City, from now. It´s such a strange feeling. I will miss my mum and my friends, of course. However, I´m still so excited I can´t breathe. Whenever I have nothing to do for a short time this mixture of feeling overwhelms me.I´m afraid of what I´m about to see, to learn, which problems I will have. I´m excited to see my sweet host family and I´m afraid of loosing some friends, because they will go their own ways from now on, for example they begin to work. I think I will miss my mum enormously, we´ve always lived together, side by side, 10 month without her will be a big change. Anyway, all in all I´m just totally confused but most excited!

Flight Date

Continental Airlines

I will be flying to Kansas City at August 3. Have to be at the airport at 6.30 early in the morning to get my tickets from the organization. :/ I only have one stopover in Newark (near New York) and have to wait for the next flight 3 hours! Anyway, all in all I´ll be traveling for 20 hours and be very tired when I arrive, but I am a lucky one. You can find a lot of worse cases in this topic (getting the flight from the organization)

High School

My  High School in Belton will be the Heartland Highschool. It´s a very small and private school. However, I don´t have to pay school fees, cause it is sponsored from my organization EF. But the school is also very strict, for example with the dress code and I have to buy new clothes. I also have church histroy, which might take me some hours studying, since I don´t know very much about it, especially because I´m in the 12th grade. That´s why I will do graduation with my hostsister Amber. She is really nice and I think we will understand each other very well, the whole family is nice. Amber´s got 2 horses. You might know that I enjoyed riding horseback very much in past. It´s like a childhood dream for me that we can ride horses whenever we want to. All in all I think it will be a great year!

Host family :)

Yesterday someone from my organisation called me and told me a host family would be really interested in hosting me. I got my host family!!!! They live in Belton, which is a place in the metropolitan area of Kansas City in Missouri. Kansas City is next to it! :) My hostmum just wrote a mail to me and the family seems sooo nice. I am so happy but I still don´t know which date I´m flying. However, I know school starts already August 16th. I need to hurry up to manage all the things and say goodbye to EVERYONE, since we are also moving to another apartment at the same time. It will be so stressing. But right now I´m just happy about getting such a great host family (at least what I know from now they are really awesome) in such a great place. I´m so excited. I´m going to the U.S. so soon!
